The sixth season of ‘Peaky Blinders’ has already been shown at the BBC, but fans in the Netherlands have to be patient for a while. The final season of the popular series will only be available on Netflix from June 10. “It’s finally time,” the streaming service shares on Thursday with a series of photos of the closing season.
Peaky Blinders is about the gang of the same name that was active in Birmingham just after the First World War. The lead role is played by Cilian Murphy. He’s looking for a target for the clan in Birmingham, but at the same time he also wants peace. In addition to him, Tom Hardy, Paul Anderson, Finn Cole, Anya Taylor-Joy and Sophie Rundle also return and the series has a role for Stephen Graham.
Unfortunately, Helen McCrory, who played the head of the family, cannot be seen: she passed away last year at the age of 52 from cancer.
The sixth is also the last season, but don’t worry: a movie is in the making – although the script has yet to be written. Creator Steven Knight previously told Variety that the recordings will not start until 2023.
The film may be more delayed, as a major fire recently broke out on the set used for Peaky Blinders in Yorkshire, UK. The building on fire, Dalton Mills Keighley, once served as Yorkshire’s largest textile mill, but today it is best known for Peaky Blinders . Downton Abbey is also recorded there.
