Larsa Pippen Says Michael Jordan’s Comments About Her Relationship With His Son “Traumatized” Her
Larsa Pippen, the ex-wife of NBA legend Scottie Pippen, has said that she was “traumatized” by comments made by Michael Jordan about her relationship with his son, Marcus Jordan.
In an episode of her podcast, “Separation Anxiety,” Pippen said that she was “embarrassed” by Jordan’s comments, which he made to paparazzi when asked if he approved of the relationship.
“You thought it was funny,” Pippen said to Marcus Jordan. “I didn’t think it was funny, there is nothing funny about it.”
Pippen said that she felt Jordan’s comments were “awkward” for both her and Marcus Jordan, as well as for her ex-husband and Jordan, who were teammates on the Chicago Bulls for many years.
“It probably is awkward for my ex and your dad because they have their own relationship, or whatever it was,” Pippen said. “I wasn’t a part of that and you weren’t a part of that so I feel like for them it probably is weird. Oh my god, I was traumatized.”
Jordan’s comments about Pippen’s relationship with his son have been widely reported in the media, and have sparked a debate about whether or not it is appropriate for a parent to publicly disapprove of their child’s romantic partner.
Some people have defended Jordan, saying that he is entitled to his own opinion about his son’s relationship. Others have criticized Jordan, saying that his comments were hurtful and unnecessary.
Pippen has not said whether or not she will continue to date Marcus Jordan, but she has said that she is “happy” in the relationship.
“I’m happy,” Pippen said. “I’m in a good place.”
