Kourtney Kardashian Returns to the Gym Postpartum: Empowering Message for Moms
Kourtney Kardashian, 44, took to Instagram to share her first postpartum workout since welcoming baby Rocky Thirteen with husband Travis Barker in November. The reality TV star posted a clip of herself walking on the treadmill, captioning it, “7 weeks postpartum: first day in the gym doing 30 minutes walking 3.0 12.0 incline taking it easy.”
In addition to documenting her fitness journey, Kardashian offered words of encouragement to fellow mothers, emphasizing, “No rush, no pressure mamas, your body is healing, it’s not a race.”
Kardashian and Barker’s surprise relationship became public knowledge after spending time together at Kris Jenner’s Palm Springs home in January 2021. The couple, who tied the knot in May 2022, have been fairly isolated since Rocky’s arrival, as revealed by an insider.
Despite the challenges, sources have reported that Kardashian and Barker’s older children from previous relationships, Mason, Reign, Penelope, Landon, and Alabama, have warmly welcomed their new sibling, with the siblings taking turns to support the new parents.
However, the road to welcoming Rocky wasn’t without its difficulties. In September, two months before the birth, Kourtney underwent emergency fetal surgery due to a complication. She expressed gratitude on Instagram, acknowledging her doctors for saving her baby’s life and her husband for rushing to her side.
Reflecting on the experience, Kardashian shared, “I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear. I have a whole new understanding and respect for the mamas who have had to fight for their babies while pregnant.”
As the Kardashian-Jenner family continues to grow, Kourtney Kardashian’s openness about her postpartum journey serves as an inspiration and reminder to moms everywhere that healing takes time and there’s no need to rush.
