The execution of the American prisoner Rodney Reed has been canceled for the time being and Kim Kardashian is extremely happy with that. The reality star was present in the courtroom when the judge in the US state of Texas decided that Reed’s case should be reviewed.
“Words cannot describe the relief and hope that went through the room,” Kim writes on Twitter. She recently signed a petition to prevent the execution of Reed. Other celebrities such as Beyoncé, Rihanna and LL Cool J also signed the petition. Kim thanks them on Twitter for their efforts.
Words cannot describe the relief and hope that swept over the room in that moment. That hope had been building over the last few weeks around Rodney’s case. We have seen Democrats and Republicans come together. We have seen grassroots activists and lawmakers link arms.

So grateful for the commitment and passion of everyone who voiced their support, the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles for their recommendation to issue a 120 day reprieve, and the courts for issuing a stay!

The black Rodney Reed has been detained for 21 years because of the death of a white woman. He was then found guilty by a completely white jury.
