Actor Kevin Spacey is facing sexual abuse charges in London, in which he has plead not guilty. The case involves seven charges against one accuser, who remains anonymous, and alleges that the abuse occurred between 2001 and 2004. Spacey appeared in court via video link and denies all accusations.
The actor, who was artistic director of the British Old Vic theater between 2005 and 2013, is facing additional allegations of sexual assault from that time period. He denies all allegations. The charges related to his time at the Old Vic will be tried together on June 6, 2021, with a ruling expected a month later.
In the past, Spacey was acquitted of similar charges brought against him by American actor Anthony Rapp in the United States. Spacey maintains that he is innocent and has never been alone with Rapp.
Spacey is set to be honored at an event in Turin, Italy on January 17, which will be his first public appearance in five years.
