Keira Knightley can now call himself an officer in the ‘most excellent order of the British Empire’ (OBE). The actress was knighted by Prince Charles on Thursday. Also actor and writer Timothy Bentinck and singer and rapper Ms. Dynamite were awarded at Buckingham Palace.
Keira got the title OBE because of her merits in the drama world and her charity work. Ms. Dynamite, who actually Niomi Arleen McLean-Daley, and Timothy got a lower rank, they may call themselves members in the Order of the British Empire (MBE).
Some 25 ribbon ceremonies are organized every year in the United Kingdom. The recipients are regularly honored by Queen Elizabeth, but she is often replaced by her son Prince Charles or her grandson Prince William.
