Keanu Reeves wouldn’t say no to a role in the Marvel Universe. Responding to rumors he could join the superhero franchise, the actor told Esquire he would be honored.
“Isn’t that bigger than a universe? It’s like a multiverse … it’s a Marvel-verse,” the comedian said. “It would be an honor. There are some amazing directors, visionaries, and they do things that have never really been done. It’s special because of the scale, the ambition, the production. So that would be. nice to be a part of it. ”
Keanu will soon be reprising the lead role of the Matrix franchise opposite Carie-Anne Moss (Trinity), a highly anticipated sequel whose trailer is already available.
Jada Pinkett Smith, Lambert Wilson and Daniel Bernhardt will all reprise their roles alongside newbies Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Christina Ricci and Telma Hopkins.
However, some actors present in the previous opus will not be present, such as Laurence Fishburne and Gina Torres. Hugo Weaving, who played the unforgettable Agent Smith, will not be there either.
He explained about it: “Lana Wachowski (the director of the Matrix films, editor’s note) called me at the beginning of last year. We worked five times together on three Matrix films, V for Vendetta and Cloud Atlas. Lana was very keen on me being involved in The Matrix. There was a reading with Keanu, Carrie and myself and a few others from the old family. Eventually we discussed it and when the offer came up for Warner’s, I said yes the next day. I thought we could have done my scenes in May, June and July. And we all pretty much agreed and agreed on dates. But Lana then decided it wouldn’t work. and she broke off the negotiations. That’s where it all ended.she didn’t think my commitment to the National Theater was going to fit the dates she had in mind for me. ”
