Kate Winslet says she wishes she had someone to help save her from her over-enthusiastic co-stars during sex scenes in some of her past performances.
The 45-year-old Oscar winner praised the work of intimacy coordinators who have worked on television and film projects in recent years to help actors feel safe when filming explicit scenes.
Having featured in particularly erotic scenes herself over the years, Kate has signaled that she wished there were people on set to help her deal with slightly over-enthusiastic co-stars.
Reflecting on the past, Kate suggested that some of her former co-stars got too involved during sex scenes.
The Daily Mail quotes the actress as saying, “I really wish I had them in the past.
“I could have done with this friend.
“You could just do with someone who says, ‘Can you ask him not to put his hand there’, so it wasn’t me who had to say, ‘Can’t you put your hand there’, which can be quite annoying.
Speaking of the intimate scenes left in August, Kate explained that she worked directly with her 26-year-old co-star to make them “narrative.”
She told The Hollywood Reporter: “Saoirse and I choreographed the scene ourselves.
“It’s definitely not like eating a sandwich. I just think Saoirse and I felt really safe.
“[Director Francis Lee] was naturally very nervous. And I just said to him, ‘Look, let’s try to sort this out. And we did. “We will start here. We are going to do that with the kisses, the breasts, you go there, then you do that, then you go up here.
“I mean, we marked the rhythms of the stage to anchor ourselves in something that only supported the narrative.
“I felt the most proud I have ever felt to do a love scene on ‘Ammonite’. And I felt the least embarrassed by far.
