Judi Dench was featured as an Old Deuteronomy in Cats last winter . The film has been poorly received by critics and the actress is not a fan either: she says she is not happy with how she looked in the end.
“The cape I had to wear! Five dead foxes on my back,” the actress complains in conversation with British Vogue .
Cats was written internationally by film experts and the number of visitors was very disappointing. The film is described as a flop, partly because of the way the cats were portrayed: the proportions were wrong and the digital post-processing was considered creepy.
In an earlier version, it was even seen that forgotten to edit Dench’s hand, causing it to protrude from the costume. The film was edited again after release and sent back to cinemas, making the hand no longer visible.
Dench hasn’t quite been able to see the film yet, but was unhappy with how she ended up looking and hoped for a slightly more elegant look for Old Deuterenomy. “I looked like a battered, mangy old cat. A big orange bruise. Why?”
