American television comedian and favorite Jimmy Fallon apologized for participating in a black-faced Saturday Night Live sketch two decades ago.
Forgotten images of comedian comedian Chris Rock’s The Tonight Show host impersonation came to the Internet over the weekend, prompting trolls and critics alike to launch the hashtag #JimmyFallonIsOverParty on Twitter.
Fallon responded to the reaction on Tuesday, writing: “In 2000, while on SNL, I made the terrible decision to impersonate Chris Rock with blackface. There is no excuse for this.
“I am very sorry to make this unquestionably offensive decision and I thank you all for holding me accountable.”
