Jennifer Lopez (52) received the Icon Award from radio station iHeartRadio on Tuesday evening in Los Angeles. During her speech, the singer thanked her fans. “You have made this dream come true for me,” said the singer to an enthusiastic crowd.
“I wish I could say that awards are the most important to me”
“I wish I could say that awards are the most important to me,” Lopez said, holding the statuette. “But that’s not true. Don’t think I don’t appreciate it, because I do. But that’s not what I do it for. I do it for you. For the love you give me, the appreciation and the sweet reactions, the fact that you make me part of your life means the most to me.”
The singer, who was cheered from the room by daughter Emme (14), friend Ben Affleck and his son Samuel (10), became emotional when she thanked her fans. “You made this happen. You did this for me. Thank you for believing in me even when I didn’t. You taught me who I am. And let me tell you one more thing: I’m only just started.”
