Actress Jane Adams Slams ‘Feminists’ for Disregarding Testimonies of Safety on Set of HBO Series ‘The Idol’
Renowned actress Jane Adams has recently spoken out against what she perceives as a persistent disregard for the truth by certain factions of feminists who continue to assert allegations of exploitation against female actors on the set of the popular HBO series, The Idol.
Despite the fact that prominent actresses involved in the production, including Lili-Rose Depp, Da’Vine Joy, and Adams herself, have openly refuted these claims, the feminist voices behind these accusations remain unyielding.
In a report by Variety, Adams expressed her astonishment at the lack of attention paid to the denials, stating, “What amazes me is that no one is listening – I have not seen that before in all my days, such dogged refusal to change the narrative.”
She went on to deliver a pointed message to the feminists, stating, “I especially want to say to all the feminists, ‘Go f**k yourself’. All those who I worked with are refuting your claims, but you are not listening. You are not listening.”
During an interview with Vanity Fair, Adams expressed her love for the show and her growing disillusionment with the current climate, saying, “I don’t really care anymore because these days, you have to almost apologize to certain people for your likings and dislikings.”
“I especially want to say to all the feminists, ‘Go fuck yourself.’ All these women that I’m working with are talking about their experience and you’re not listening. You’re not listening!”

Adams further emphasized her belief that free speech has now become a license to offend, without any room for nuanced discussions or differing opinions.
The controversy surrounding The Idol began even before its release, when a March investigative report by Rolling Stone alleged exploitation on the set of the series. However, female actors involved in the show have vehemently denied these claims, assuring that they felt safe and respected throughout the production process.
Lili-Rose Depp, one of the lead actresses, praised director Sam Levinson as the best director she has ever worked with, highlighting his attentiveness and ability to create a comfortable working environment.
The Idol can now be streamed on HBO Max, offering viewers the opportunity to form their own opinions on the show and the allegations surrounding its production.
