Jamie Lynn Spears Leaves “I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!” Due to Medical Reasons
Jamie Lynn Spears, known for her role in “Zoey 101,” has withdrawn from the British reality competition show “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!” The announcement came from ITV, the channel airing the program, citing medical grounds as the reason for her departure.
An ITV spokesperson stated, “Jamie Lynn Spears has left ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ on medical grounds. She’s been a fantastic camp mate who has triumphed at trials and bonded well with her fellow celebrities.”
The show places celebrities in the challenging conditions of the Australian rainforest, where they must secure food to avoid elimination by viewer votes. Spears’ decision not to return to the show was communicated to her castmates, with her last appearance airing on Wednesday.
In a previous episode, Spears expressed the difficulty of being separated from her family for an extended period. “I do not want to be here. F— this,” she shared, adding, “I just want to see my kids, that’s it. I’ll stay out here with these fricking critters, just let me see them.” Despite these sentiments, she later stated her intention to persevere for the sake of being a better camp mate.
During her time on the show, Spears also discussed her relationship with her older sister, Britney Spears, acknowledging their occasional disagreements but emphasizing that families fight and that they handle it better than most.
This marks Spears’ third departure from a reality TV competition this year. In October, she was eliminated from “Dancing With the Stars,” and in January, she self-eliminated from “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test,” citing her strong connection with her children as a primary reason.
Spears revealed, “I miss my children if I’m away from them for like a couple of hours, I miss them.” She explained that being away from her kids made her feel like a less-than-ideal mother, expressing the challenge of balancing her career with motherhood.
