Jamie Dornan was quarantined in Australia when his father Jim died in Northern Ireland from the effects of the corona virus last year. The 39-year-old actor had to stay in a hotel because of the shooting of the BBC drama ‘The Tourist’ and was therefore unable to travel to his father in time, British media reported.
The actor’s father, well-known in the medical world, had surgery on his knee but contracted corona in hospital. He eventually died from the effects of the virus. When Jamie learned that his father had died, he had to remain in quarantine for four more days. In addition to being a doctor, his father Jim was also a researcher and professor, including at the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland, where the family comes from.
Earlier, the actor told The Sun that 2021 was “the worst and most difficult year of his life” due to the death of his father. “I have endured a lot of pain and loss early in my life and now,” said the actor. Jamie lost his mother to pancreatic cancer at the age of 16.
