Everyone will be guilty of something.
Deadline reports that Antoine Fukua will film a remake of the Danish thriller Guilty, with Jake Gyllenhaal starring in the film. The original film was nominated for an Oscar and Sputnik for Best Foreign Language Film, but did not win. Filming will begin in November in Los Angeles. Prior to that, Gyllenhaal had already starred with Fukua in the 2015 sports drama Lefty. The actor talks about the new project.
I am very happy to work with Antoine again. The time I spent with him while working on Lefty was one of the most important creative experiences of my career. I can’t wait to get back to him on set again.
Fukua and Gyllenhaal will also be producing the new film. Nick Pizzolatto (True Detective, The Magnificent Seven) will write the screenplay.
The original film follows a rescue dispatcher who received a call from a woman claiming to have been kidnapped. It is not possible to find out the details of the abduction. The protagonist understands that every minute counts and tries to save the victim himself. But he soon discovers that everything is not as it seems. And first you need to figure out what is true and what is not.
