The actor admitted that contracting the coronavirus had a “fairly traumatic” impact on his mental health and that of his wife Sabrina Dhowre.
For Idris Elba, contracting the coronavirus was “quite traumatic”.
The British actor and his wife Sabrina tested positive last April but only suffered a few symptoms. However, Idris said he was very concerned that the extent of the damage the virus can cause was relatively unknown.
In an interview with Radio Times magazine, he explained: “I was asymptomatic so I did not have major symptoms like everyone else. But mentally, it affected me a lot, because we know too little of things about this virus. I really wanted to talk about it because it was such a mystery. The mental impact it had on my wife and I was quite traumatic. “
The star also admitted being thankful for the containment as it allowed her to heal quickly.
He continued, “I needed containment to get over it. And it turns out that the world also needed containment.”
Idris recently confessed that sharing his diagnosis seemed to him to be “the right decision” in order to start an honest conversation about it.
He said, “My wife and I thought sharing this news with you was the right decision to make. I’m feeling good at the moment. I woke up this morning without any symptoms. My voice is a little tired. .. I check my temperature twice a day. I feel good, I’m fine. I read a lot on the subject. “
Many other celebrities have contracted the virus this year, including Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson, Pink and his son Jameson, and Prince Charles.
