So soon it’s time for Verizon Wireless and AT & T, the two US operators who decided to promote the first holographic smartphone, the RED Hydrogen One. This one should be out this summer …
We will soon learn more about the already famous smartphone with holographic screen, in this case the RED Hydrogen One. If its release was initially planned at the beginning of the year, the device should be launched this summer, more precisely in August. And it should be previewed in Los Angeles on June 2nd and 3rd.
August launch of RED Hydrogen One, the holographic smartphone
Knowing that the smartphone was manufactured to allow a real holographic display in 3D, the price will necessarily be premium. Added to this is the fact that it was designed by a company dedicated to the manufacture of high-performance camera, as they are used to make movies in Hollywood.
Two versions of RED Hydrogen One should be proposed: the first aluminum will be sold at 1195 dollars, or approximately 1000 euros. It will be much more expensive for the second titanium version, for which it will still pay 1595 dollars, or 1350 euros.
A particularly expensive holographic smartphone that intrigues
Regarding the technical characteristics of the device, they will necessarily be up to it. Thus, the RED Hydrogen One will be equipped with a Snapdragon 835 processor, as well as a 4500 mAh battery which should ensure the device a good autonomy.
To this would be added modular elements, which already exists for some smartphones like Moto Z. The holographic screen would propose a definition of the order of 2560 x 1440 pixels on a diagonal of 5.7 inches. The smartphone would allow to view 3D images without glasses.
Verizon Wireless and AT & T are counting on innovation and advanced technologies to promote their smartphone. However, the extremely high price may be a drag. Good to know, it is quite possible that some operators make the choice to financially support part of the cost of the smartphone to attract the first customers.
