Hilary Duff plays the title role in the psychological horror film The Haunting of Sharon Tate, which revolves around the actress who was murdered by the sect of criminal Charles Manson.
This is already the third film that is currently under development on the murders committed by the sect of Charles Manson, who in August of 1969 instructed some of his followers to kill the residents and guests of a house in the Hollywood Hills.
Five people were killed, including actress Sharon Tate, the then eight months pregnant woman of Roman Polanski.
Duff (30), currently also featured in the comedy series Younger but best known for her role in Lizzie McGuire , plays the title role in the film about Tate, reports Deadline. Jonathan Bennett ( Mean Girls ) plays Tate’s ex-boyfriend in the film that revolves around the last days in the actress’s life.
The plot is inspired by an interview that Tate gave a year before her death. In it, the actress said that she had nightmares about spirits that haunted her house and also caused her own death caused by a satanic sect.
Other Manson films
Also director Quentin Tarantino is working on a still untitled film about cult leader Manson. Here you can see Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie (also in the role of Tate) and probably also Tom Cruise.
On Tuesday it was announced that The Crown actor Matt Smith will play the role of Manson in Charlie Says . This focuses on three young women who have been found guilty of murder. They are initially sentenced to the death penalty, but that is later converted into a life imprisonment.
Manson was given life imprisonment for inciting the gruesome acts. He died last November at the age of 83.
