The Prince, a satirical animated series about the British Royal Family, has been delayed by HBO for the time being. The character of Prince Philip also appears in the series, but because of his death it has been decided not to screen the series in the short term.
“We are saddened by his passing and will therefore make new plans,” streaming service HBO Max said according to The Hollywood Reporter . A new premiere date will be announced shortly.
A preview (photo), which was shown before the prince’s death, showed that Philip is not portrayed very flatteringly. It is still unclear whether HBO will adjust this or take its character completely out of the series. Actor Dan Stevens has provided the voice of the prince.
In addition to Stevens, Orlando Bloom (Prince Harry) and Sophie Turner (Princess Charlotte) can be heard in the animated series. The Prince was created by Gary Janetti, who himself provides the voice of Prince George.
