Streaming platform HBO Max has ordered the first season of ‘Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin’. The project is in the hands of Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (47), the showrunner of hit series ‘Riverdale’.
“Twenty years ago, a series of tragic events turned the place of Millwood upside down”
At the beginning of this month, it was announced that Aguirre-Sacasa was working on a reboot, which revolves around a new story with new characters. It is therefore unlikely that original cast members will appear in Original Sin . According to the television maker, the new series will lean slightly more towards horror than the original, which was shown on television from 2010 and ran for seven seasons.
In a press release, HBO Max describes the upcoming series as follows: “Twenty years ago a series of tragic events turned the place Millwood upside down. Today, a group of teenage girls – a whole new set of Little Liars – is haunted by a stranger. enemy who makes them bleed for a sin their parents committed twenty years ago. “
Pretty Little Liars , which starred Lucy Hale, Ashley Benson and Shay Mitchell among others, was a big hit. Two previous spin-offs could not match that success; both Pretty Little Liars: Ravenswood (2014) and Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists (2019) were pulled off the tube after one season.
It is not yet known when Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin will be released
