Authorities in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein reported that a leak occurred at an inactive nuclear power plant in Brunsbüttel, Germany, during maintenance work on the discharge line on September 28.
“A leak occurred at the Brunsbüttel Nuclear Power Plant during maintenance work on the discharge line on September 28, 2022,” says the report prepared by the state authorities.
It is being verified that in the immediate vicinity of the leak site, low levels of contamination with radioactive materials have been detected.
It is worth noting that the Brunsbüttel Nuclear Power Plant has been closed since 2007.
