Tracy Sampson, a former trainee of record company Epic Records, claims that she had a sexual relationship with R. Kelly as a sixteen-year-old.
The woman (36) tells her story in the broadcast of Dateline, where the Today Show showed a fragment of Thursday. The whole interview can be seen on the American channel NBC tonight, reports The Hollywood Reporter Friday.
According to Sampson, the singer asked her at a certain moment if he could kiss her. When she refused, he asked if she wanted to give him a hug. “When I did that, he started to kiss me,” said the woman.
The incident would be the start of a sexual relationship between the two. Samspon says that she had the idea that after a while she fell in love with him.
“I did not know what to do and if this was normal, I had no idea whether this was how adults interacted,” she said in the interview.
R. Kelly has been accused of sexual abuse by several women
Sampson’s claim comes after the publication of the documentary Surviving R. Kelly , in which several women accuse the singer of sexual abuse. This abuse began in most women when they were still underage.
Kelly denies the allegations and calls the program disgusting. The singer would think that the film is a revenge action of people from the music industry that he is dealing with.
Justice in the US state of Georgia has started a criminal investigation into the singer following the documentary series. Kelly himself would be filing a lawsuit against the American pay channel Lifetime, which broadcasts the documentary series.
