In a long post on Instagram, Florence Pugh (26) criticized the hateful reactions she received after her previous post on Sunday. The actress posted a series of photos from a visit to a Valentino event on Saturday. In the photos, she can be seen posing in a pink, see-through dress, with her nipples clearly visible. The actress then received a torrent of criticism from people who felt that she has too small breasts.
“Fortunately I have reconciled myself with the intricacies of my body”
Florence writes that she was really looking forward to wearing the pink dress at an event of fashion house Valentino. She knew what she was getting into when she shared the photos, but continues to marvel at the amount of criticism the shots caused, she writes.
“It’s not the first time and it certainly won’t be the last time a woman is told by a group of strangers what’s wrong with her body,” says Florence, who is particularly surprised at “how vulgar” the reactions sometimes are. ‘Fortunately, I have reconciled myself with the intricacies of my body that make me who I am. I’m happy with all the ‘flaws’ I couldn’t face when I was fourteen.’
According to Florence, many Instagram users “aggressively” expressed how disappointed they were with her “small tits” and that the actress should be ashamed of being so flat. However, the Black Widow actress says she is not afraid of the size of her facade, but does wonder why people deliberately make such a problem of it.
“I am very grateful that I grew up in a family of strong, curvy women. We were raised to find the strength in the folds of our bodies and to speak up when you’re not comfortable,” said Florence. “It’s always been my mission to tell this little world ‘fuck this or that’ to anyone who expects me to turn my body into something ‘hot’ or sexually attractive.”
The actress blames keyboard terrorists who haphazardly post harmful comments under messages. “I wore that dress because I want to,” Florence says of what would be attractive. “If it’s so easy to openly insult women in 2022, the answer is you don’t know.”
‘Grow up! Respect people. Respect bodies. Respect all women. Respect people and life will be a lot easier, I promise,” the actress concludes. “And all because of two cute nipples…”
In the last photo in her series, Florence covers her nipples with her fingers. “The latter is for those who feel more comfortable with that dark patch of skin covered,” writes the British, closing her message with #fuckingfreethefuckingnipple.
