Mena Massoud as the street rat with a heart of gold, Aladdin, and Will Smith as the larger-than-life Genie in Disney’s ALADDIN, directed by Guy Ritchie.

For the first time, images of Will Smith have been released in Disney’s Aladdin remake. On social media this led to mixed reactions because the actor, who creeps into the skin of the Spirit, is not blue on the photos as in the original cartoon. Will, however, quickly reassured the fans on Instagram.

“This is how the Spirit looks in its human form”

“I am still blue, this is what the Spirit looks like in its human form, and my character uses computer animations,” he wrote in a reaction to a startled follower.

The photos were placed in the magazine Entertainment Weekly. Until now there was only a teaser appeared in which only Aladdin, played by Mena Massoud, was shown. In the live action film, Naomi Scott is Princess Jasmine and Dutchman Marwan Kenzari plays the role of Jafar.
