A fatal shooting incident shook the Bronx on Tuesday night, leaving one man dead and three others injured after assailants on scooters allegedly opened fire on them at a street corner, as per police reports.
The incident unfolded at the intersection of Mount Eden and Townsend Ave, where four men were gathered, according to NYPD Assistant Chief Benjamin Gurley, who briefed the media.
Gurley explained that four individuals, each riding on separate scooters with two persons on each, approached the group at the street corner. Subsequently, the rear passengers on each scooter unleashed a barrage of gunfire, discharging approximately 10 rounds.
The victims, aged between 23 and 37 years old, suffered gunshot wounds, with three sustaining injuries to their legs and one succumbing to a fatal chest wound. The deceased victim was identified as a 29-year-old male. Emergency services rushed the injured to a local hospital for treatment.
Following the shooting, the masked suspects hastily fled the scene heading northbound on their scooters.
While one male suspect is currently in custody, authorities remain uncertain about his connection to the incident, as stated by Gurley.
