Arnold Schwarzenegger Shares How His Childhood Shaped His Dedication to Fitness (Exclusive)
Arnold Schwarzenegger, the iconic bodybuilder and Hollywood legend, is back in action with his new thrilling comedy series, FUBAR. At 75 years old, he continues to work hard to maintain his physical fitness.
During a special screening of FUBAR at The Grove in Hollywood, Schwarzenegger graced the red carpet and spoke with ET’s Kevin Frazier about his workout routine and the early roots of his exercise obsession.
For Schwarzenegger, hitting the gym every morning has become second nature.
“I don’t consider myself disciplined because working out in the morning is something I’ve done since I was a little kid,” he shared. “I vividly remember my father saying, ‘You can’t have breakfast until you’ve earned it. Do two hundred sit-ups and push-ups.’ That’s how I was raised.”
“Now, it has become my routine. I’m addicted to working out every day,” he explained. “Even during film shoots like FUBAR, we would work out at odd hours, sometimes at three in the morning or five in the morning, or even nine in the morning. It doesn’t matter. I just need to complete my one-hour workout and do some bike riding for cardiovascular training.”
Schwarzenegger emphasized that working out isn’t exclusive to actors preparing for roles or athletes gearing up for competitions.
“It simply makes you feel good, regardless of what you do,” he shared. “Whether it’s a TV series, a movie, writing a book, or giving a speech. Whatever you engage in, you need to feel fit and energized.”
