The Real Rock appears in episodes of each episode.
On his Instagram page, American wrestler and actor Dwayne Johnson confirmed the imminent release of his latest project, Young Rock. The autobiographical comedy film has so far been presented with a short promotional teaser, which the artist has posted on the Web to 212 million subscribers. NBC’s upcoming sitcom is based on Johnson’s own childhood. In the description for the publication, the actor expressed regret that his father, who died on January 15, 2020, would not be able to see it: “He would be proud.”
The official press release states that Young Rock focuses on various chapters of Dwayne Johnson’s life “from growing up in a strong family to growing up in his professional wrestling environment and playing football at the University of Miami.” The project aims to show how the personality of the famous wrestler and artist became. In his transformation, not only his parents played a role, but also “more grandiose characters” that he met on the path of life.
Johnson himself will appear sporadically in each episode, and three young actors will play Dwayne at different stages of his youth. Adrian Growlkes will play Johnson as a child, Bradley Constant will play the 15-year-old Rock, and Willie Latukef will play the role of the future artist in his student years. The premiere is announced for February 16.
