Disney + is currently working on a television series based on the story from the National Treasure film series . Producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who was also involved in the two successful cinema films, tells Collider that he is also participating in the series.
Bruckheimer also confirms the rumor that a third National Treasure film is planned.
The feature film would have the same cast as the first two parts. Nicolas Cage plays the lead role in the adventure films about a historian who searches for a treasure of great value. There are also roles for Diane Kruger, Justin Bartha and Jon Voight.
Bruckheimer says that the film’s script is currently under construction.
The development of the series, which will be shown on streaming service Disney +, is according to the producer at a more advanced stage than the film.
The series will feature a younger cast, but according to Bruckheimer, the story is set in the same world as that in the 2004 and 2007 films.
