After 25 years, the reality show Judge Judy will come to an end in 2021 . The face of this program, Judy Sheindlin (77), announces in conversation with Ellen DeGeneres that in 2022 she will bring a new, similar program on television.
“I have had a 25-year marriage with CBS (the channel where it is broadcast, ed.) And it has been a success,” says the presenter in a clip of the interview that will be broadcast later on Monday.
The intention is that CBS will broadcast repeats of Judge Judy after next year . The following year Judy Justice will be made. It is not yet known on which channel this can be seen.
In Judge Judy , Sheindlin handles disputes between Americans every day. More than five thousand episodes have now been made and it is watched by around nine million people on average.
Sheindlin is considered the best-paid presenter of American television. Variety previously reported that CBS paid 100 million dollars (around 90 million euros) to the presenter to broadcast the program’s repetitions.
