The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office has finally released the official cause of death for actor Leslie Jordan, who passed away in October of last year at the age of 67.
The coroner’s office has determined that the cause of death was sudden heart failure due to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease, which is a form of heart disease caused by the hardening and narrowing of the arteries. The death was classified as natural.
Jordan was en route to the set of the sitcom “Call Me Kat” on the morning of October 24th, when the car he was driving was involved in a minor accident at the intersection of Cahuenga Boulevard and Romaine Street in West Hollywood, California.
Despite the minor damage to his car, it was widely suspected that Jordan may have suffered a medical emergency prior to the accident, which ultimately led to his death. The official cause of death, as determined by the coroner’s office, confirms these suspicions.
Upon the passing of Leslie Jordan, a well-known actor known for his appearances on “Will and Grace”, game shows, and reality TV, there was a significant outpouring of grief from fans and colleagues alike.
In honor of his memory and contributions to the entertainment industry, a tribute event will be held at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville on February 19th. This event, titled “Reportin’ for Duty: A Tribute to Leslie Jordan”, will feature appearances and performances by celebrity friends of Jordan, including Eddie Vedder, Maren Morris, Margaret Cho, Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik. This will be a celebration of Jordan’s life and career.
According to an autopsy report provided to USA TODAY Thursday, the medical examiner’s office found Jordan had “moderate to severe atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.”
A toxicology analysis came back negative for illicit drug use. https://t.co/DzK4mF2qGl
