Cameron Diaz Denies Connection to Jeffrey Epstein Following Mention in Unsealed Court Documents
Cameron Diaz has refuted any association with the late financier Jeffrey Epstein after her name appeared in recently unsealed court documents. In a statement to Page Six on Friday, January 5, Diaz’s representative asserted that the actress had never met Epstein, emphasizing that there was no connection between them, regardless of Epstein’s mention of her name in the documents.
The revelation came through the testimony of one of Epstein’s accusers, Johanna Sjoberg, who worked as a masseuse for the financier. Sjoberg recounted instances when Epstein allegedly boasted about his Hollywood connections during massage sessions. She specifically mentioned Epstein dropping names like Leonardo DiCaprio, Cate Blanchett, and Bruce Willis.
When asked if Epstein was “name-dropping,” Sjoberg affirmed, adding that despite the mention of Cameron Diaz, she had never met the actress. The court documents, consisting of 40 exhibits, were unsealed on Wednesday, January 3, as a result of a December 18 ruling by federal judge Loretta A. Preska. The initial lawsuit, filed in 2015 against Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s former girlfriend, resulted in Maxwell’s conviction in 2021 for her involvement in Epstein’s sex crimes.
Cameron Diaz is not the only celebrity mentioned in the lawsuit, as Sjoberg recalled encounters with Michael Jackson and magician David Copperfield. The documents also revealed Epstein’s alleged remarks about former President Bill Clinton, with Sjoberg claiming Epstein insinuated that Clinton had a preference for young girls.
The lawsuit further featured testimony from Virginia Giuffre, another accuser of Epstein and Maxwell, who claimed that Maxwell ordered her to have sexual contact with public figures, including Prince Andrew and New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson. Giuffre settled her lawsuit against Maxwell in 2017 but pursued legal action against Prince Andrew in 2021, resulting in a settlement in early 2022.
The high-profile case sheds light on the dark underbelly of the entertainment industry, adding to the series of scandals that have rocked Hollywood in recent years. Clinton’s spokesperson denied any involvement with Epstein in 2019, emphasizing that the former president was unaware of Epstein’s crimes.
As the legal proceedings unfold, the revelations continue to expose the intricate web of connections between Epstein, Maxwell, and various prominent figures.
