Priyanka Chopra is preparing for her daughter Malti’s public debut.
The 40-year-old actress is featured on the cover of the February issue of British Vogue, wearing a yellow vinyl LaQuan Smith coat.
Inside the magazine, Chopra is photographed wearing a red Ferragamo turtleneck dress while holding Malti, who is dressed in a matching crimson velvet dress by Kissy Kissy.
The photo shows Malti’s face turned away from the camera as the actress and her husband Nick Jonas have kept the child’s face private since her premature birth in January 2022.
Malti, the first child of the couple, was born prematurely via surrogacy and spent 100 days in the NICU before her parents were able to take her home.
In the interview with British Vogue, Priyanka Chopra shared her and her husband’s fear for Malti’s survival during her premature birth and NICU stay, as well as her thoughts on dealing with negative public speculation.
“I’ve learned to ignore the negative comments directed towards me, but it hurts when they talk about my daughter,” Chopra said in the interview. “I want to protect her and keep her away from the public eye. Holding her little hands while the doctors were trying to find her veins was a painful experience, so I won’t allow her to become a topic of gossip.”

She added, “I’ve been really protective of this chapter of my life with my daughter. Because it’s not about my life only. It’s hers too.”
PriyankaChopra has taken the past year off from acting to focus on her favourite role to date: being a mother. It’s a big change of pace. “It’s been 20 years of hustling and working at breakneck speed. I’ve always been like, ’What’s the next thing?’” she says in the February issue of @BritishVogue. “But now I feel I have a centre, a sense of calm, because every decision ends up being about her.” See the full story in the new issue, on newsstands Tuesday 24 January, and click the link in bio to read the interview.
