The British actor Albert Finney, known by Erin Brockovich and Murder on the Orient Express , died at the age of 82 after a brief illness. That lets his family know.
Finneys family says today in a statement that he died peacefully after a short illness. His neighbors were with him.
The actor broke through with the leading role in Tom Jones in 1963. The film earned him an Oscar nomination. There were four nominations for the coveted Academy Awards, for Murder on the Orient Express , The Dresser , Under the Volcano and Erin Brockovich .
In more recent years he played several action films, such as the James Bond hit Skyfalland two Bourne films.
