An official trailer for Judy has arrived online. With Renée Zellweger in the role of showbiz icon Judy Garland, the upcoming biographical drama is one of many movies to watch closely in this award season. In addition to presenting an Oscar-winning star, the film is based on Tony Quilter’s Fin de l’Arc-en-ciel play , directed by Rupert Goold, current artistic director of Almeida Theater. Add to that the fact that memoirs about famous artists (especially singers and / or legends of Hollywood) often do well on the Oscar road, and Judy has a lot to work for.
The trailer released earlier this year offered a glimpse of Zellweger singing Garland’s beloved Wizard of Oz Tune in the movie “Over the Rainbow”. However, he avoided diving too deeply into the plot and left it to a glimpse to deepen things. Now, just a few months before the movie stops, the full promo – the one that offers a better overview of the upcoming drama – has been unveiled.
Pathé and Road Attractions (which distribute the film in the United Kingdom and the United States, respectively) have now dropped the Judy trailer online, before its premiere in theaters. You can check it in the space below.
