The American ex-actor Bill Cosby has reached a settlement with seven women who had taken him to court because they allegedly defamed them when they accused him of lies about cross-border sexual behavior. American media report that.
According to documents at a federal court in Springfield in the state of Massachusetts, it appears that both sides had negotiated an arrangement after Cosby had to go to jail last fall after a separate case of sexual assault in Pennsylvania. The 81-year-old comedian is serving a three to ten year sentence.
The federal judge overseeing the case in Massachusetts has yet to approve the settlement.
It is not yet clear whether or not Cosby would withdraw his complaint against the seven women. One of them recently died.
Dozens of women have accused the former actor of transnational sexual behavior. He denies all allegations and has appealed his conviction in Pennsylvania.
