Beyoncé Triumphs with ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ as it Hits No.1 on UK Charts After 14 Years
In a spectacular comeback, American music icon Beyoncé has clinched her first No.1 single in the UK in 14 years with the release of her country track, “Texas Hold ‘Em.” The song soared to the pinnacle of the British charts, marking a significant milestone in the artist’s illustrious career.
The chart-topping hit is one of two recently unveiled by Beyoncé, who surprised fans with a Super Bowl commercial appearance earlier this month. In the commercial, the 32-time Grammy Award winner playfully teased about “breaking the internet” just moments before unveiling plans for a forthcoming album.
According to the Official Charts Company, “Texas Hold ‘Em” is Beyoncé’s sixth No.1 single in the UK and her first since 2010, when she dominated the charts with Lady Gaga’s “Telephone.” Her last solo No.1 in the UK dates back to 2008 with “If I Were A Boy.”
This recent success in the UK follows Beyoncé’s historic achievement earlier in the week, as she became the first Black woman to top Billboard’s Hot Country Songs charts in the United States with “Texas Hold ‘Em.” Her second new single, “16 Carriages,” secured the No. 9 position on that chart.
Notably, “Texas Hold ‘Em” made its debut at No.2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, a testament to its widespread popularity across various genres. The accomplishment adds to Beyoncé’s already impressive list of achievements.
Fans can anticipate more from the music sensation as she gears up for the release of her upcoming album, “act ii,” scheduled for March 29. This album is the second installment in a three-part project that commenced with her critically acclaimed 2022 release, “Renaissance.” Beyoncé continues to redefine musical boundaries and captivate audiences around the world with her groundbreaking work.
