Beyoncé and JAY-Z have been sued by Jamaican artist L’Antoinette Stines, TMZ reports on Tuesday based on court documents. The artist couple would have used the voice of Stines in the song Black Effect (Everything is Love) without being asked.
The first minute of Black Effect (Everything is Love) consists of only the voice Stines. She claims that Beyoncé and JAY-Z never told her that she wants to use her voice recordings for something other than promotion.
“Stines feels artistically raped,” the court documents filed. The artist feels misguided to sign without consulting her lawyer and says she received “not a penny” for her contribution to the song.
Stines wants damages and a statement of her contribution to Black Effect (Everything is Love) . Beyoncé and JAY-Z have not yet responded to the allegations.
