Five months after she won a Grammy for best pop album, Ariana Grande finally got hold of the statue. It was handed to her by manager Scooter Braun, although the singer actually wanted to tell her fans that the prestigious music prize was among her bills.
“I’m glad I picked up the mail today”
“I’m glad I picked up the mail today,” Ariana joked on Instagram with a photo on which she posed with the statue. However, her manager also posted about the moment on Instagram, and said he had handed over the award to the 26-year-old. “I am so proud to have given her her first Grammy this week,” he said of Ariana, whom he called “a living icon.”
The singer answered below: “So grateful. Thank you Scoot. Even though you have ruined my joke that it had arrived by mail.”
Ariana was supposed to perform at the Grammys last February, but got into disagreement with the organization about the content of her show. She therefore decided to stay home that evening. In a series of tweets, she emphasized that she was nevertheless very grateful for her two nominations, one of which she cashed in during the award show.
