Amber Heard (36) is very disappointed that her ex-husband Johnny Depp (58) has won his lawsuit against her. The “disappointment I feel today cannot be expressed in words,” the actress told American media on Wednesday in response to the jury verdict.
“I feel broken”
The actor had sued her for libel over an article she wrote in 2018 about her experiences with domestic violence. According to Johnny Depp, it was clear that Amber Heard was writing about him. The actress must pay him $10.3 million in damages. Amber Heard, who had filed a counterclaim, will receive an amount of 2 million dollars from her ex.
The judgment has seriously affected the actress. “I feel broken because the huge mountain of evidence was not enough to withstand the power and influence of my ex-husband,” said Amber Heard. “I think it’s even worse when I think about what this judgment means for other women. It’s a setback. We are going back to a time when a woman who speaks out can be publicly pilloried and humiliated.”
