A serial adaptation of I Know What You Did Last Summer is in the works for Amazon Prime . The series is based on the popular 1997 horror film starring Jennifer Love Hewitt and centers on a group of young people who are stalked by a mysterious killer.
The project is produced by Sony Pictures Television and is based on the 1973 book of the same name. Sara Goodman ( Preacher ) will write and produce the series.
“The best horror movies always have a shock in store, and Sara Goodman’s I Know What You Did Last Summer series is a perfect update to the iconic slasher movie,” said Albert Cheng of Amazon Studios.
It is not yet known when the series will be shown on Amazon Prime. It is also not yet clear who will play the leading roles in the horror series.
In addition to Hewitt, the film also featured Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillippe. The story is about four teenagers who drive home after a graduation party and hit a fisherman. They decide to throw the body into the water.
A year later, Julie (Hewitt) receives an anonymous note with the text ‘ I know what you did last summer ‘, which appears to be from the man they hit.
There were two more sequels to the film: I Still Know What You Did Last Summer and I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer .
