The giant has decided to crack down on what is considered abusive behavior.
It is a technique that has existed for a very long time, has been regulated since then but is still operating online: the frequent return of objects. A good way for some to get a refund after enjoying a purchase. In fact, nothing prohibits such a practice but it does not please some giants like Amazon. And for good reason: the firm has just set up a brand new system with simple operation: after several returns, the customer is warned while too much recidivism leads to a ban. A rather expeditious sanction that many buyers have already faced.
Amazon sanctions the unwanted returns
Amazon seems to want to hunt down those who benefit from its rather advantageous returns system. For the giant, the abuse is numerous and must be punished. The firm is rather clear on the subject: “There was a problem”. It is the spokesperson of the company who spoke to the serious Wall Street Journal about all these abusive returns.
We want everyone to be able to use Amazon but there are rare times when people abuse our service over a long period of time. We do not take these decisions lightly, but with 300 million customers around the world, we want to take steps to ensure the good experience of everyone.
A good experience that goes through the prohibition of cheaters to use the service. As highlighted by many sites, there are two sanctions: the first is a reminder email following the return of several objects asking the reasons for such decisions while the second closes the account of the client. A closed account while the latter will simply be prevented from creating a new one!
