Alaska Air Group inc. won the War of bidding with rival jet Blue airways Corp. for the purchase of Virgin America Inc. Parent Company of Alaska Airlines has confirmed that deal of buying Virgin America has been finalized on $2.6 billion.
Alaska Airlines CEO Brad Tilden said in an video that acquisition of Virgin America is wonderful time. Both the airlines are awesome airlines delivering low cost fares and an outstanding customer care services. By bringing them together we are creating service for the people living anywhere in the west cost.
After this deal Alaska Airlines would pay $57 a share for Virgin airlines, a 47% premium.
