At least eight people died and several were injured in a shooting that occurred this Monday in one of the buildings of the Perm State University (Russia), according to the Investigation Committee.
According to the Health Ministry, at least 24 people were injured. It was previously reported that seven people were hospitalized, one of whom is in serious condition.
Faced with the threat, several students took refuge in the university classrooms, while others jumped out of the window, according to the images taken from the scene.

At the time of the attack, about 3,000 students were inside the university.
The Police and emergency services are at the scene. The case is being investigated. All classes have been canceled while students are being evacuated.

According to preliminary data, a young man, identified as 18-year-old Timur Bekmansúrov, entered one of the university buildings and began to shoot with firearms . Before the attack, Bekmansúrov is reported to have left a note on his social media.
