Johan Johannsson, an Icelandic composer who designed music for many films, died unexpectedly on Friday. His lifeless body was discovered in his apartment, his manager Tim Husom announced Saturday.
The Icelandic composed the music of films such as “First Contact” (Arrival), “Sicario” and “A Wonderful History of Time” (The Theory of Everything). In 2014, he was nominated for Oscars, BAFTA and Grammy Awards for this latest feature film. He had also won a Golden Globe. Johan Johannsson finally won an Oscar nomination in 2015 for the music of “Sicario”.
The Berlin police are investigating the circumstances of his death. An autopsy could be performed. The composer was 48 years old.
