The American rapper A $ AP Rocky played at Lowlands on Sunday evening. “I spent most of the summer in a place where I didn’t want to be, so I’m glad I’m here,” he told the audience.
For a long time it was uncertain whether the much-discussed rapper, who was convicted in Sweden last week for assault, would come to Biddinghuizen, but he still climbed the Lowlands podium on Sunday evening. “Praise the Lord. He’s here!”, The festival said on Twitter.

The American gave a one-hour show in the Alpha tent and soon, whether or not encouraged by A $ AP Rocky, moshpits appeared in all corners of the tent. The rapper has meanwhile collected bras from fans from the audience.
Although the bulging Alpha tent jumped from front to back and even called for more, the responses to social media were somewhat lukewarm. Several people criticized the fact that he taped along with a tape and found his show to be poor.
A $ AP Rocky, actually called Rakim Mayers, received a suspended sentence on Wednesday after being involved in a fight in Stockholm in June. The case was widely reported in the international press, especially after US President Donald Trump tried to get him released.
