Charlie Sheen has a considerable payment arrears with the American tax authorities. The 52-year-old actor still has to transfer almost 5 million dollars (4.1 million euros) to the tax authorities.
According to The Blast, which holds court papers, it concerns arrears of taxes for the year 2015. In that year, Sheen announced that he has HIV. Since then the actor lives a withdrawn life.
That Sheen may be in financial trouble explains why he put his villa in Los Angeles for sale earlier this month. Sheen is asking for 9,999,999 dollars (8.2 million euros) for the spacious home.
The actor earned 1.8 million dollars (almost 1.5 million euros) per episode of Two and a Half Men at the peak of his career. He was the best-paid television actor.
