Dolly Parton (76) mourns the passing of her friend Loretta Lynn. The American country singer died on Tuesday at the age of 90. “We were like sisters, all those years we spent together in Nashville,” she says on Instagram.

Loretta became world famous in the early 1960s with her hit ‘Coal Miner’s Daughter’, an autobiographical song. She distinguished herself from other country singers by singing openly about sex, cheating and divorce. In 2005 Loretta made a comeback with the album Van Lear Rose.
