Katie Price (44) ends up in a deep depression when she is raped at gunpoint during a brutal car hijacking in South Africa four years ago. The British fashion model also suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. “I was suicidal, didn’t want to be here,” she told British media.
“If we had had security, we could have escaped”
Katie is shooting for her reality series My Crazy Life with her kids when she is ambushed by criminals and robbed while driving from Johannesburg to Swaziland. The glamor model is also raped. She tells her story in Channel 4 ‘s upcoming documentary Katie Price: Trauma and Me .
“We had no security. If we had security, we could have escaped the six guys who jumped on us, held me at gunpoint and raped me,” she told Mail Online ahead of the documentary .
Katie also speaks candidly about the period after the incident, saying that she was suicidal a few years ago and that she tried to kill herself. “I knocked myself out and had black eyes. I had bruises around my neck. I woke up. I didn’t want to be here,” she admits honestly.
While Katie isn’t quite back to her old self, therapy is helping her settle in. “If only I had done this years ago. Then I would not have said certain things and reacted differently. I felt that I had to protect myself,” she shares with Metro .
