The Arab country plans to allocate more than 50% of military spending to national companies by 2030.
Saudi Arabia plans to start manufacturing unmanned aircraft for military purposes , Saudi Arabian Military Industries ( SAMI ) CEO Walid Abukhaled said on Sunday.
Within the framework of the international defense industry exhibition in Riyadh, the director pointed out that “the drone will be 100% nationally manufactured and will be incorporated into the Armed Forces,” reports Tass, citing the Alikhbaria channel.
The representative indicated that his company is collaborating with foreign companies specialized in the production of this type of aircraft.
“At the same time, we are working on the construction of one of the world’s largest ammunition production factories ,” Abukhaled added.
Saudi authorities, according to the representative, plan to allocate more than half of military spending to domestic companies by 2030.
