The actress and her co-star, Florence Pugh, were ill during filming …
Scarlett Johansson and her co-star, Florence Pugh, had pneumonia while filming Black Widow, revealed the film’s director, Cate Shortland, in a new interview.
In conversation with The Gentlewoman magazine, the filmmaker said that the recordings of the film were “exhausting” because for four months they had to film in various parts of the world.
Regarding the pneumonia of its protagonists, Shortland commented that although they were ill, they continued with the recordings.
“It was like being in the military … In the end, Scarlett and Florence were filming while they had pneumonia,” she recalls.
Despite this, Shortland assured that Johansson maintained his good spirits during the filming: “She is not pretentious … And that makes it fun to be by her side,” he confesses.
“She jokes with everyone, and says there are no hierarchies. She appreciates people and makes people feel that way, ”he commented.
The long-awaited Black Widow movie, starring Johansson, will arrive simultaneously in theaters and on Disney + on July 9.
